Hi there! I am so excited that you are interested in choosing me to document the start of your motherhood journey! I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
I started my photography journey in 2016 taking photos of our two dogs and friends and family. Within a few months, I had completely fallen in love with capturing these precious memories. In 2018, I had my first son and now five years later, I have three little boys! Motherhood is the hardest, but most rewarding job you could ever have and while the days are long, the years are so short. Let's document every bit of this journey so you can remember every feeling!

After photographing families for over 6 years, and having a family of my own, there's one thing I've learned: Motherhood may be filled with lots of "mamas" and little hands touching you, but it can still feel really lonely.
Part of the joy in documenting families is getting to know other mamas like me. Getting to talk about the first smiles and words and steps, but also getting to talk about the exhaustion and the worries. So hi there new mama BFF, I'm Kate!

Some people may feel that gender reveals are a little outdated, but personally, I'm a HUGE fan. One of the most exciting parts of each of my pregnancies was finding out the sex of the baby and the it only got more exciting each time - even with all boys!
While I'm happy to show up and document whatever you have planned, I've also seen a bunch of cool ideas and I'd love to help you plan out the perfect reveal!

One of my favorite parts of The Motherhood Journey... maternity sessions! It can be hard to feel beautiful during pregnancy and the best thing I did for myself at the end of each pregnancy was to get a beautiful new dress, get my hair and makeup done (and a pedicure just for the foot massage) and get maternity photos done.
Maternity sessions typically take place around 30-32 weeks and can be done anywhere you'd like! From the gorgeous fields in the Sandhills to the beach or the mountains, let's make these photos embody every bit of joy and love that already surrounds that sweet little babe.

And here it is... the moment we've been waiting for. The very best part (so far): that sweet little babe you've been dreaming of for so long is here!
After you're home and comfortable, I'll come to your house to capture your new family in your most raw form. My two favorite places to do this are in the nursery and in your primary bedroom, so please make sure those rooms are ready.
Newborn sessions typically take place within the first two weeks after birth, so while you're still soaking in every little inch of pure sweetness, I'll be there to capture it to keep forever.

While it may seem hard to believe, that sweet little baby that just yesterday was kicking you in the ribs, is turning ONE. You did it mama! You made it through the first year!
Let's celebrate with either some updated family photos and some special ones of our big one year old, or some cake (or maybe even time for both)!

You can expect your photos to be delivered via an online gallery within two-three weeks of your session. At that time, I'll also send over details about preserving your images through prints and albums.
I hope the relationship doesn't end after I deliver your photographs. I want to hear about the all of your motherhood adventures and watch those babies grow along with you!

THE COLLECTIONS
One of the best ways to make your memories last is by ordering
an album. These high quality professionally designed albums come in a
variety of linen & leather colors.
These aren’t the same albums your parents wedding photos came in.
They’re modern, lay perfectly flat and look incredible on coffee tables.
All albums must be prepaid before design begins. Albums typically take
between 4 to 6 weeks to complete and include three rounds of revision. Albums may be ordered anytime before or after the sessions.
ALBUMS
Add-on sessions are the perfect way to make sure you don't miss the chance to document your favorite stages during that first year. For me personally, I was most excited to document two things for each of my boys: the 3 month mark when they were comfortably laying on their bellies and holding their head up to look at me, and the 6 month mark when they were sitting up on their own well.
But let's not forget about two of my other favorite add-ons, the Maternity Boudoir to celebrate this AMAZING thing our bodies can do and the Fresh 48 session to capture those first few moments together in the hospital.
ADD-ON Sessions
Fantastic! To ensure I can give the best experience to each family, I only take 3 families per month (due date month). To book, we’ll need a completed contract and a 50% non-refundable deposit. Just shoot me an email or inquire on the website to start!
We love your work and we’re ready to book! What’s the next step?
Galleries typically include about 75 photos (although I'm known to overshoot and include more). Your online gallery will come loaded with fully edited high resolution images you can print anywhere. You’re also welcome to share your photos on Facebook and other social media if you'd like.
How many photos are typically included and can we print the photos ourselves?
I love to travel! typically add travel fees on to any session outside of a 60 mile radius from my home in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Fees vary depending on location so ask me for more details.
