Congrats! You’re engaged! This is such an exciting time and you have A LOT of planning ahead of you, but let’s start with this: engagement photos! Here’s a few things to consider before booking your engagement session:

1. Seasons
While some people want to take their engagement photos as soon as they’re engaged, others want a specific season for their photos. Whether you’re in love with a certain time of year, want to avoid sweating or freezing, or just have a particular outfit in mind, pick out a certain time frame that best fits you!

2. Now that you’ve decided on a season, it’s time to pick a location! Photographers have a way of picking the perfect location for you, but here are a few things to help us pick! Are the engagement pictures you’re dreaming of on a beautiful open farm? Should there be a barn in the background? Maybe you’re more of a city girl or maybe you’re a couple of homebodies and want pictures of what you do best – laying around on the couch or cooking breakfast. Maybe you’re dying to have your engagement pictures at the beach or in the mountains? Whatever you’re dreaming of, ask for it! Some photographers may let you pick two locations and if you’re local to me, it’s SO easy to do go to a farm and the city in the same day!

3. Now to my favorite part… do you have something a little out-of-the-box weighing on your heart? Does your fur baby need to be in a few photos? Are you an adventurous couple and want to hike a mountain for the perfect photo? Do you guys love having fun and want to do fair engagement session? Figure out what best describes you as a couple and go for it! You can always do a few “normal” photos first if you want!
