I felt like I had a little piece of home with me while I was out with Hannah and Caleb. Not only because we did their engagement session on Hannah’s family land, but because they remind me so much of Cole and myself. Everyone knows I have a special place in my heart for high school sweethearts and I think it’s because they love each other so well. Young couples get to experience growing and learning together and I think it makes them such strong couples… but maybe I’m biased on that.
I love getting to do sessions at locations that are special to my couples, but what makes it even more awesome is when the location feels special to me too. You wouldn’t think that Hannah’s backyard could feel special for me, but we have some family land that’s very similar to theirs where Cole and I have spent so many days fishing and hunting on. Now, I’m not good at hunting or fishing, but just being out there with him is one of my favorite things. In fact, we have only had two real “dates” since Luke was born in January and one of them was out in the pond fishing. There’s just something so peaceful about being out on family land with your best friend and it makes me wonder why anyone would want to live in the city.
Hannah and Caleb, I can’t wait for your big day next Spring!
